Data Engineer (SDE I – Data)

About This Role

Amazon India is hiring SDE I – Data Engineers for its AWS Analytics and Consumer data teams. You will build the data pipelines that power Amazon's retail forecasting, recommendation systems, AWS billing, and CloudWatch analytics — processing trillions of events daily across Amazon's global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build batch and real-time data pipelines on AWS (Glue, Kinesis, EMR, Redshift, S3)
• Develop PySpark and Scala-based ETL jobs processing multi-terabyte daily data volumes
• Build data warehouse schemas and analytical tables on Amazon Redshift
• Implement data quality validation frameworks using AWS Deequ or custom Python validators
• Orchestrate pipelines using Apache Airflow (AWS MWAA) with alerting and SLA monitoring
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and product analysts to understand data requirements

Requirements & Skills

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Data Science, or related engineering field (2025/2026 batch)
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills
• Understanding of data warehousing, distributed processing, and streaming systems
• Familiarity with AWS data services or equivalent cloud data platforms
• Strong DSA fundamentals and analytical thinking skills
