Data Engineer – Azure Data (New Grad)

About This Role

Microsoft India is hiring New Graduate Data Engineers for its Azure Data platform teams — building Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI infrastructure. You will work on the world's second-largest cloud data platform, designing pipelines that process exabytes of enterprise data for thousands of global customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Pipelines
• Build data lake architectures on Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 with Delta Lake format
• Develop Spark-based data processing jobs using PySpark and Scala on Azure Databricks
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries on Azure Synapse Analytics dedicated SQL pools
• Implement data quality checks, schema validation, and alerting using Azure Monitor
• Build semantic data models in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake) for Power BI consumption

Requirements & Skills

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field (2025/2026 batch)
• Strong SQL proficiency and Python programming skills
• Understanding of distributed computing concepts: Spark, Hadoop, or streaming systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data warehouse concepts
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and database design principles
