ESG Analyst – Sunrun
Sunrun (NASDAQ: RUN) is America's leading provider of residential solar energy and battery storage systems, serving 900,000+ customers with clean energy subscriptions and making rooftop solar accessible for every family. Sunrun's virtual power plant platform aggregates residential solar and Brightbox battery storage systems into a distributed clean energy grid resource, helping utilities manage peak demand. We are hiring an ESG Analyst in San Francisco to support Sunrun's ESG reporting, climate commitments, and social equity initiatives in clean energy access.
Responsibilities
- Support Sunrun's annual ESG and Impact Report covering clean energy delivered, carbon avoided, and social impact metrics
- Collect and manage Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data across Sunrun's installation, logistics, and supply chain operations
- Develop ESG metrics tracking Sunrun's progress toward clean energy access goals in lower-income and disadvantaged communities
- Respond to ESG investor questionnaires and manage relationships with MSCI, Sustainalytics, and S&P Global on ratings data
- Research ESG best practices in the residential solar sector and benchmark Sunrun's performance vs. competitors
- Support Sunrun's workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) data reporting and program development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Sustainability, or Finance
- Passion for clean energy access and making residential solar equitable for all communities
- Understanding of GHG accounting and ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB Renewable Resources sector)
- Strong Excel skills and data organization ability for ESG metrics management
- Excellent communication skills for investor ESG engagement and sustainability report preparation
