ESG Analyst – Corporate Sustainability – Duke Energy

We are hiring ESG Analysts in Charlotte to support Duke's sustainability reporting and investor ESG engagement functions.
Responsibilities
- Support Duke Energy's annual Climate Report, Sustainability Progress Report, and TCFD-aligned investor disclosures
- Manage Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data collection and quality assurance across Duke's utility operations
- Respond to ESG rating agency questionnaires (MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P Global CSA, CDP) on behalf of Duke Energy
- Conduct peer benchmarking of ESG metrics across the electric utility sector and prepare competitor ESG analysis
- Support Duke's environmental justice strategy and community benefit program documentation for regulatory filings
- Track regulatory developments in ESG disclosure (SEC, FERC, state utility commissions) and advise on reporting implications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or Sustainability
- Understanding of electric utility operations, GHG emissions, and clean energy transition concepts
- Experience with GRI, SASB, TCFD, or CDP reporting frameworks
- Strong Excel and data management skills for GHG inventory management
- Excellent written communication for investor-grade sustainability reports
