ESG & Sustainability Analyst – NextEra Energy

We are hiring ESG & Sustainability Analysts at NextEra's Juno Beach, FL headquarters to support the ESG reporting, climate strategy, and sustainable finance functions of one of the world's most admired energy companies.
Responsibilities
- Support preparation of NextEra's Annual ESG Report and TCFD-aligned climate disclosure covering 60+ GW of renewable and nuclear assets
- Collect, analyze, and verify Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data across NextEra's utility and renewable energy businesses
- Conduct ESG investor engagement analysis — responding to questionnaires from ESG rating agencies (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP)
- Monitor ESG regulatory developments (SEC climate rules, EU taxonomy) impacting NextEra's investor disclosures
- Support sustainable finance activities including green bond framework maintenance and use-of-proceeds reporting
- Analyze ESG peer benchmarking across the utility sector and prepare competitive ESG positioning assessments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Finance, Business, or Sustainability
- Understanding of GHG accounting, renewable energy, and utility sector ESG issues
- Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency for GHG data management
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks: GRI, SASB Electric Utilities sector, TCFD, CDP
- Excellent writing skills for investor-grade ESG disclosure documents
