ESG & Climate Risk Analyst – ICF International

ICF's climate and sustainability practice serves federal agencies (EPA, DOE, USAID), state governments, and Fortune 500 companies on climate adaptation planning, ESG strategy, and clean energy transition. We are hiring ESG & Climate Risk Analysts in Reston, VA to support ICF's growing corporate sustainability and climate risk consulting projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments for corporate clients using TCFD framework and NGFS climate scenario analysis
- Support GHG emissions inventories and science-based target (SBTi) setting engagements for Fortune 500 corporate clients
- Research ESG regulations and disclosure requirements (SEC, EU CSRD, ISSB) and advise clients on compliance pathways
- Develop ESG materiality assessments through stakeholder surveys, peer benchmarking, and sustainability trend analysis
- Support federal agency clients on climate adaptation planning and environmental justice program implementation
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and ESG disclosure documents for corporate and government clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy, Economics, Sustainability, or related field
- Understanding of climate science, GHG accounting, and ESG frameworks
- Strong quantitative skills including Excel modeling and data analysis
- Excellent writing skills for client reports and regulatory submissions
- US citizenship or permanent residency preferred for federal agency project work
