Data Engineer – New Grad – Brex

We are hiring New Grad Data Engineers to build the financial data platform powering Brex's AI-native finance tools.
Responsibilities
- Build Brex's transaction data pipeline — processing corporate card transactions, ACH transfers, and wire payments through Brex's financial data platform for real-time spend analytics
- Develop Brex's credit risk data platform — building ML feature engineering pipelines computing creditworthiness signals from startup revenue, runway, and spending patterns
- Implement Brex's expense management analytics pipeline — transforming receipt, memo, and categorization data for Brex's AI-powered expense categorization and policy compliance features
- Build Brex's customer data platform — unifying card, banking, and expense data into a 360-degree view of each business customer for Brex's personalization and upsell models
- Develop Brex's fraud detection data pipeline — processing transaction signals and merchant patterns for real-time fraud scoring and dispute analytics
- Implement dbt transformation models and Snowflake data warehouse pipelines for Brex's finance, growth, and risk analytics teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Strong Python and SQL skills for financial data pipeline development
- Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, or Airflow data stack components
- Understanding of fintech concepts: corporate credit, expense management, and payment processing
- Interest in building data infrastructure for the financial tools that power modern businesses
