Data Engineer – New Grad – Rivian
Rivian (NASDAQ: RIVN) is the leading electric adventure vehicle company — maker of the R1T electric pickup truck (named MotorTrend Truck of the Year), R1S electric SUV, and Electric Delivery Vans (EDVs) for Amazon's last-mile delivery fleet. With 100,000+ vehicles delivered and manufacturing plants in Normal, IL and Georgia, Rivian is at the frontier of the EV transition. Rivian's vehicles generate massive amounts of telemetry data — each Rivian sends thousands of data points per second on battery performance, motor efficiency, terrain conditions, and driver behavior. This data drives OTA software updates, predictive maintenance, and next-generation vehicle AI. We are hiring New Grad Data Engineers to build the vehicle data platform powering Rivian's software-defined EV innovation.

- Build Rivian's vehicle telemetry ingestion pipeline — processing thousands of signals per second from 100,000+ connected Rivian vehicles including battery state, motor performance, and charging events
- Develop Rivian's fleet analytics data platform — building Spark and Kafka-based pipelines transforming raw vehicle telemetry into battery health, range prediction, and maintenance analytics datasets
- Implement Rivian's OTA (Over-the-Air) update analytics pipeline — tracking software update deployment status, rollback rates, and performance improvements across Rivian's vehicle fleet
- Build Rivian's charging network data pipeline — ingesting charging session events from Rivian Adventure Network DC fast chargers for utilization analytics and predictive maintenance
- Develop Rivian's driver safety analytics dataset — processing driver behavior signals (harsh braking, acceleration, cornering) for safety trend analysis and Driver+ ADAS system improvement
- Build Rivian's supply chain analytics datasets — transforming manufacturing production, component inventory, and supplier quality data for operations dashboards
