Data Engineer – New Grad – Chewy

We are hiring New Grad Data Engineers in Bellevue, WA to build the data infrastructure powering Chewy's customer-centric commerce platform.
Responsibilities
- Build Chewy's Autoship subscription analytics pipeline — transforming subscription event data (enrollments, pauses, cancellations) into churn prediction features for Chewy's ML models
- Develop Chewy's product catalog data pipeline — ingesting and enriching 115,000+ pet product listings with nutrition facts, compatibility tags, and veterinary review attributes
- Implement Chewy's customer 360 data model — unifying purchase history, Autoship, veterinary, and support interaction data for personalized marketing and product recommendation
- Build Chewy's veterinary telehealth data pipeline — processing appointment, prescription, and health record events for Chewy's Connect with a Vet and pharmacy fulfillment services
- Develop Chewy's fulfillment center analytics datasets — transforming warehouse picking, packing, and shipping event data for supply chain optimization and carrier performance tracking
- Implement dbt transformation models and Great Expectations data quality checks for Chewy's AWS Redshift data warehouse
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Python and SQL proficiency for data pipeline development
- Familiarity with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Redshift, Kinesis) or similar cloud platforms
- Understanding of ELT patterns, dbt, and data warehouse schema design
- Pet lover attitude is always a plus — Chewy is built by pet parents for pet parents
