Backend Engineer – New Grad – Robinhood

We are hiring New Grad Backend Engineers in Menlo Park to build the financial platform making investing accessible for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Build Python and Go backend services powering Robinhood's brokerage platform — implementing order routing, trade execution, and portfolio management APIs
- Develop real-time market data ingestion and processing pipelines delivering live stock prices, options chains, and crypto quotes to 23M+ accounts
- Implement DTCC clearing and settlement integration services processing trade confirmations and position updates from market execution venues
- Build account management APIs handling KYC (Know Your Customer) onboarding, ACH bank transfers, and instant deposit provisioning
- Design database schemas in PostgreSQL and Redis for Robinhood's financial ledger, account positions, and transaction history
- Implement fraud detection and compliance monitoring services for Pattern Day Trader (PDT) rule enforcement and AML transaction screening
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go (Robinhood's primary backend languages)
- Understanding of financial systems, brokerage operations, or fintech infrastructure is a strong plus
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and relational databases
- Strong CS fundamentals and commitment to writing correct, reliable financial software
