Cybersecurity Analyst – IBM

Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (IBM QRadar, Splunk) to detect potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, perform triage, and escalate confirmed threats per incident response procedures
- Conduct vulnerability scans using tools like Nessus or Qualys and track remediation workflows
- Analyze threat intelligence feeds and update detection rules to stay ahead of emerging attack techniques
- Prepare incident reports and communicate findings to client security teams
- Participate in IBM's SOC training programs and pursue certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Fundamental understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPN)
- Familiarity with common attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK) and basic malware analysis
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is a strong plus
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends for 24/7 SOC coverage
