Data Analyst – Marketplace & Pricing – Lyft
Lyft is a leading transportation network company providing rideshare services across North America. Our Marketplace & Pricing Analytics team uses data to ensure supply and demand are balanced in real-time across Lyft's 600+ cities — setting dynamic prices that are fair to riders and rewarding for drivers. We are hiring an entry-level Data Analyst to help shape this complex, real-time marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Analyze rideshare supply-demand dynamics, surge pricing patterns, and geographic market imbalances
- Build pricing strategy dashboards tracking fare competitiveness, driver earnings, and rider price sensitivity
- Design and evaluate A/B experiments testing new pricing algorithms, promotions, and driver incentive structures
- Develop forecasting models for ride demand, driver supply, and revenue projections
- Support post-event analysis for major demand events (concerts, sports games, airport surges)
- Present marketplace insights and pricing recommendations to business and product leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Operations Research
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Presto, Hive, or Spark for large dataset analysis
- Python proficiency for data analysis, experimentation, and forecasting
- Understanding of microeconomics, supply-demand dynamics, and pricing theory
- Hands-on A/B testing and statistical inference experience
