Data Analyst – Trust & Safety – Airbnb
Airbnb is a global community marketplace connecting people who want to rent their homes with travelers seeking unique accommodation experiences in 220+ countries. We are hiring a Data Analyst on our Trust & Safety team to help protect the Airbnb community — detecting fraud, abuse, and safety risks before they harm hosts or guests.
Responsibilities
- Analyze behavioral signals and transactional data to detect patterns of fraud, scam, and policy violation activity
- Build detection models and anomaly detection pipelines using SQL and Python
- Track Trust & Safety KPIs including false positive rates, fraud loss, and detection coverage
- Evaluate the effectiveness of automated and human review interventions through A/B testing
- Partner with policy, engineering, and operations teams to iterate on detection and enforcement strategies
- Present risk trend analyses and incident investigations to Trust & Safety leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
- Strong SQL skills for querying behavioral and transactional datasets
- Python experience (pandas, scikit-learn) for feature engineering and anomaly detection
- Comfortable working with ambiguous, real-world data that is messy and incomplete
- Interest in trust, safety, or fraud analytics is a significant plus
