Data Analyst – Retail Operations – Walmart
Walmart is the world's largest company by revenue, serving 240 million customers per week across 10,500 stores and a growing e-commerce platform in 19 countries. Our Bentonville, AR home office runs one of the largest and most sophisticated retail analytics operations in the world. We are seeking a Data Analyst to help optimize inventory, supply chain, pricing, and store operations through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze retail operational data across inventory management, store performance, pricing, and supply chain
- Use Walmart's data ecosystem (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, internal tools) to build analytics at extraordinary scale
- Build automated reports and dashboards in Power BI tracking store-level and category-level KPIs
- Identify patterns in out-of-stock rates, shrink, margin compression, and seasonal demand shifts
- Collaborate with merchandising, replenishment, and store operations teams to translate insights into actions
- Support pricing analytics including promotional effectiveness, elasticity modeling, and competitive benchmarking
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Statistics, or Information Systems
- Strong SQL skills with experience working with large datasets (millions of rows)
- Python or R proficiency for data cleaning and exploratory analysis
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Retail, e-commerce, or supply chain analytics experience a strong plus
