Data Analyst – Content & Engagement – Netflix
Netflix is the world's leading streaming entertainment service with 270+ million paid memberships in 190+ countries. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Content Analytics team in Los Angeles, helping shape the future of what 270 million people watch by turning data into content and engagement strategy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze viewing behavior, content performance, and member engagement patterns across Netflix's global catalog
- Build and maintain dashboards that track key metrics including hours viewed, completion rates, and title-level performance
- Design and analyze A/B experiments evaluating content recommendation algorithms, artwork, and UI changes
- Partner with content strategy, product, and engineering teams to define and track success metrics for new features
- Write complex SQL queries against Netflix's Spark/Presto data warehouse to build analytical datasets
- Present findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership and content acquisition teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related quantitative field
- Strong SQL proficiency — comfortable with window functions, CTEs, and complex multi-table joins
- Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Strong statistical intuition including hypothesis testing, regression, and experiment design
