Software Development Engineer I

About This Role

Amazon India — the Indian engineering arm of the world's largest e-commerce and cloud computing company — is hiring fresh engineering graduates as Software Development Engineers I to build AWS cloud services, Amazon.in e-commerce systems, Amazon Pay, and Alexa from its India development centers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship software services for Amazon's global e-commerce platform, AWS cloud infrastructure, or Amazon devices (Kindle, Echo, Fire TV)
• Own full development lifecycle for assigned features — design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, and operational monitoring
• Develop highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems operating at Amazon's global scale
• Work with Amazon's distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and AWS-native development stack
• Write efficient, well-documented, and peer-reviewed code with strong automated test coverage
• Participate in operational excellence — on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous service improvement

Requirements & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in CS or IT — 2024/2025 batch
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java, C++, or Python
• Excellent data structures and algorithms fundamentals
• Understanding of operating systems, networks, and system design concepts
• Must clear Amazon's SDE online assessment and interview loops (typically 4–5 rounds)
