About This Role
PhonePe — India's #1 UPI payments app with 500 million+ registered users — is hiring exceptional fresh engineering graduates as Software Engineers to build the payment infrastructure, financial super-app features, and platform services that power India's largest digital payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale PhonePe's payments platform — UPI, wallet, bill payments, insurance, mutual funds — using Java, Kotlin, or Go on a microservices architecture
- Develop real-time transaction processing systems handling 250 million+ daily UPI transactions
- Build PhonePe's financial services platform — stock broking, insurance, Indus Appstore — serving 500 million users
- Design and implement distributed systems with Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, and MySQL
- Work on machine learning infrastructure for fraud detection, credit scoring, and personalization
- Contribute to PhonePe's switch infrastructure — the real-time routing engine for all PhonePe transactions
Requirements & Skills
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in CS or IT — 2024/2025 batch (IIT/NIT/BITS and equivalent preferred)
- Exceptional programming and algorithmic problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and system design
- Competitive programming experience (Codeforces, LeetCode) is a strong advantage
- Genuine passion for fintech, building at scale, and solving hard engineering problems
