Software Development Engineer – Fresher

About This Role

Freshworks — a NASDAQ-listed Indian SaaS company and one of India's most celebrated software product success stories — is hiring fresh engineering graduates as Software Development Engineers to build Freshworks' customer experience and IT service management products used by 67,000+ businesses globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship product features for Freshdesk, Freshservice, Freshsales, Freshchat, or Freshmarketer using Ruby on Rails, Java, React, or Python
• Develop scalable back-end APIs and microservices handling millions of support tickets, CRM events, and chat interactions daily
• Build React/TypeScript front-end components for Freshworks' responsive SaaS interfaces
• Design database schemas, write efficient PostgreSQL/MySQL queries, and optimize query performance
• Write comprehensive automated tests (RSpec, Jest, Cypress); ensure 80%+ code coverage
• Participate in on-call rotations and production incident response for Freshworks' globally distributed infrastructure

Requirements & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in CS or IT from reputed institutions — 2024/2025 batch
• Strong programming ability in at least one language (Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Genuine interest in SaaS product development and customer experience technology
• High academic performance — typically 7.5+ CGPA
