Frontend Developer – SDE I

About This Role

Unacademy is hiring fresh engineering graduates as Frontend Developer – SDE I to build the live learning experiences powering Unacademy's platform for 200,000+ educators and millions of learners preparing for UPSC, JEE, NEET, CAT, and other competitive exams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Unacademy's web learning platform features using React.js and TypeScript — lesson viewer, quiz engine, doubt resolution, and live class interfaces
• Develop real-time collaborative learning features using WebSocket and WebRTC technologies
• Build educator dashboard tools for content creation, live session management, and learner engagement analytics
• Optimize streaming video and live class web performance for diverse network conditions across India
• Implement offline-first PWA features for uninterrupted learning during connectivity issues
• Work in agile squads with PMs, designers, and backend engineers to ship product features rapidly

Requirements & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in CS or related field — 2024/2025 graduation
• Strong React.js and JavaScript skills with TypeScript exposure
• Understanding of real-time communication technologies (WebRTC, WebSockets)
• Experience building or interest in live streaming, video player, or collaborative tools
• Strong DSA skills — Unacademy's interview includes algorithmic problem-solving rounds
