Data Scientist / ML Practitioner

About This Role

ThoughtWorks is seeking a technically versatile Data Scientist / ML Practitioner to design and deliver responsible AI and ML solutions for ThoughtWorks' global enterprise clients — combining engineering rigor with data science expertise in ThoughtWorks' distinctive, values-led consulting culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end ML solutions for ThoughtWorks clients — from problem framing through model development, testing, and production deployment
• Apply responsible AI principles — fairness, transparency, explainability, and privacy-preserving ML — to all client deliveries
• Implement MLOps practices using ThoughtWorks' model risk framework and open-source tooling (MLflow, DVC, Seldon)
• Collaborate in cross-functional agile delivery teams with software engineers, UX designers, and client stakeholders
• Contribute to ThoughtWorks' technology radar, AI research publications, and internal AI thought leadership

Requirements & Skills

• B.Tech/M.Tech in CS, AI, or a quantitative field
• 3–7 years of ML/data science experience with strong software engineering fundamentals
• Python ML skills (scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) combined with solid software engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD)
• Strong understanding of responsible AI, ML fairness, and model interpretability (SHAP, LIME)
• Agile delivery experience and enthusiasm for collaborative, iterative development
