About This Role
MakeMyTrip is seeking an analytically strong Data Scientist – Pricing & Revenue Optimization to build ML-powered pricing, demand forecasting, and revenue management models that maximize revenue and booking conversions across MakeMyTrip's flights, hotels, and holiday packages business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop dynamic pricing and price elasticity models for flights, hotels, and holiday packages using ML and econometric methods
- Build demand forecasting models for airline seat inventory, hotel availability, and seasonal travel demand patterns
- Design and analyze revenue optimization experiments — testing pricing interventions, discount strategies, and promotional mechanics
- Build real-time pricing APIs and recommendation systems that serve personalized price offers to MakeMyTrip users
- Collaborate with revenue management, product, and engineering teams to operationalize pricing models
Requirements & Skills
- B.Tech/M.Tech/MBA in CS, Statistics, Operations Research, or Economics
- 3–7 years of ML or quantitative analytics experience — pricing, revenue management, or travel/e-commerce preferred
- Strong Python and SQL skills with time-series forecasting and optimization algorithm experience
- Understanding of revenue management concepts, demand modeling, and econometric methods (price elasticity, instrumental variables)
- Experience with reinforcement learning or bandit algorithms for dynamic pricing is a strong plus
