About This Role
Razorpay is looking for a data-savvy Data Scientist – Credit & Lending to build ML-powered credit scoring, underwriting, and risk models that power Razorpay Capital — helping thousands of Indian businesses access fast, fair, and data-driven credit products.
Key Responsibilities
- Build credit scoring and underwriting models for Razorpay Capital's business lending products using payment data, GST data, bank statements, and bureau data
- Develop early warning systems and delinquency prediction models for active loan portfolios
- Design and analyze A/B experiments on credit policy changes and model interventions
- Build pricing models for interest rate and fee optimization based on borrower risk profiles
- Collaborate with credit risk, collections, and product teams on model integration and credit policy design
- Monitor model performance, PSI/CSI drift, and regulatory compliance metrics for deployed credit models
Requirements & Skills
- B.Tech/M.Tech/MBA in a quantitative discipline
- 3–6 years of experience in credit risk, lending analytics, or financial ML modeling
- Strong Python and SQL skills with experience in credit scoring frameworks (logistic regression, gradient boosting, scorecard development)
- Understanding of Indian lending regulations, RBI guidelines, and credit bureau (CIBIL, Experian) data structures
- Experience with alternative data sources (GST, payment data, bank statement parsing) for credit underwriting is a strong plus
