Tech Mahindra is hiring a specialized Data Scientist – NLP & GenAI to build and deploy natural language processing solutions and generative AI applications for Tech Mahindra's clients in telecom, BFSI, healthcare, and media industries.
Job Overview
As a Tech Mahindra NLP & GenAI Data Scientist, you will develop LLM-based applications, conversational AI systems, document understanding pipelines, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures that deliver measurable business value for clients navigating the generative AI transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop NLP pipelines including text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and summarization
- Fine-tune and deploy large language models (LLMs) including GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, and domain-specific models using Hugging Face and LangChain frameworks
- Build RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) for enterprise knowledge management
- Develop and integrate conversational AI and chatbot solutions using LLMs for client-facing customer service and internal productivity applications
- Evaluate model outputs for accuracy, safety, hallucination, and business alignment using systematic evaluation frameworks
- Stay current on rapidly evolving GenAI research and contribute to Tech Mahindra's GenAI Center of Excellence
Requirements & Skills
- B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc. in Computer Science, AI, or related field
- 3–6 years of NLP/ML experience with specific hands-on LLM fine-tuning and deployment exposure
- Strong Python skills with Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, OpenAI API, and vector database experience
- Understanding of prompt engineering, RLHF, LoRA/QLoRA fine-tuning, and LLM evaluation methods
- Cloud deployment experience (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or GCP Vertex AI)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to rapidly prototype AI solutions
