Role Context

Workday engineers build on a proprietary cloud platform with its own runtime and object model. You will receive a structured onboarding program and training on Workday's internal development environment before being embedded in a product squad. Teams ship features on a bi-annual release cycle with continuous updates to cloud-native components.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product features in Workday's proprietary XpressO language and Java
• Build REST APIs and integrations between Workday and external enterprise systems
• Write automated tests and contribute to regression test suites for HCM or Finance modules
• Collaborate with product management and UX on feature requirements and designs
• Debug and resolve customer-reported issues escalated from Workday support teams
• Participate in architecture design reviews and contribute to technical documentation

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or Software Engineering (2024–2026 grad)
• Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or a strongly typed language
• Understanding of object-oriented design, APIs, and database fundamentals
• Willingness to learn Workday's proprietary technology stack
• Interest in HR technology, financial systems, or enterprise SaaS platforms
