Role Context

AWS Support Engineers are technical consultants embedded in the support organization. You will handle escalated customer cases across networking, compute, storage, and databases. The role involves direct interaction with AWS customers — from Fortune 500 companies to fast-growing startups — making communication skills as important as technical depth.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across core AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda)
• Write scripts and automation tools to help customers optimize their cloud architecture
• Reproduce customer issues in test environments and escalate bugs to internal engineering teams
• Contribute technical articles to AWS's internal and public knowledge base
• Participate in rotational on-call support shifts for critical customer accounts
• Guide customers on AWS best practices for security, cost, and performance

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows system administration and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
• Basic scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of cloud concepts — virtualization, object storage, databases, IAM
• Strong written communication for customer-facing case documentation
